Paid by youYou pay this rent yourself, by bank transfer, under a separate rental agreement β either to the agency or to the housing provider that manages your address. Your hourly wage is not lower because of it.A change is coming: the Dutch government plans that from 1 July 2028 employers may no longer deduct housing costs from the minimum wage. After that, rent will usually be paid separately, under a rental agreement.
